Questions? Short answers.
The basics
It holds your shopping list. When you're near a store that likely has something on it, your phone lets you know. No planning, no checking the app.
Yes, that's Roaminder. Put it on your list, and when you're near a store that sells it, your phone reminds you. How it works.
Yes. Allow notifications and set location to "Allow all the time." Roaminder takes it from there.
The list still works, and opening the app near a store still shows you what's there. It just can't remind you while the app is closed.
Nothing. Roaminder is free, and every feature is included. It's supported by ads. An optional Supporter membership turns them off ($7.99 a year, or $9.99 for your whole family) (and lets you give Roami a hat).
Yes. The beta runs on iPhone through TestFlight, and on Android too.
Grab it from roaminder.com/download. Android is a direct download, and iPhone installs through TestFlight.
Privacy
No. Your location is used to find stores near you, then thrown away. There's no history of where you've been, and nothing is ever sold.
No. Everything works without one. An account backs up your settings and unlocks family and shared lists. Sign-in is your email and a six-digit code. No password.
Sign in with the same email and choose Recover. Your settings come right back.
Reminders and stores
Roaminder knows what kind of store it is, not what's on the shelf today. A grocery store probably has milk, but it can't promise. If a match is plain wrong, tap report on the store card.
It waits until you're actually there for a moment. That way you don't get pinged at every red light. Most of the time, it catches you.
After it tells you about a store, it waits five hours before mentioning that one again. Other stores still work.
The gold card on Home. It's the one store near you that covers the most of your list.
You choose. In Settings, pick anywhere from about a fifth of a mile to about half a mile.
Draw an Exclusion Zone over home or work. Roaminder goes quiet inside it and works normally everywhere else.

Adding and finishing

Take a photo of a handwritten list, a product, or a basket. Roaminder reads it and adds everything at once.
At checkout, snap your cart or receipt. It crosses off everything on your list it recognizes.
Yes. Scan one and the item adds itself, with its name, size and a picture. Smart Complete can cross things off by barcode too.
Yes. Ask Roami "where can I get motor oil near me?" and she'll name the closest store that sells it.
